Printer Prints Blank Pages: Why And What To Do?

The printer is now essential equipment in the contemporary world. However, the handy printer holds a large percentage of faults that may occasionally leave users with a mess when it prints out blank pages.

Fix 1 – Restart Your Printer

A simple reset may occasionally correct many devices’ common operational or mechanical issues. Hence, it is practical to attempt the most straightforward solution to check it works. Reset your printer with these processes:

  1. Push your printer’s Power button, then wait for the device to shut off entirely.
  2. Detach the Power cord out from the power outlet. Hold on for around 3 minutes, then try to reconnect the Power cord to the power outlet.
  3. Press the Power button to activate the device. Perform a test print and check to see if printouts have returned to normal.

Fix 2 – Resolve Ink / Toner Cartridges Problems

Supposing there are problems with the ink cartridges, your printer won’t have the capacity to generate ordinary printouts. Follow these instructions to ensure that your cartridges are wholly operational and back in working condition:

  1. Examine the Toner / Ink Levels to detect if enough ink is left over. If there is not enough left inside the tank, you might have to substitute the empty cartridges with new cartridges.
  2. Remove the Ink Cartridges and next check if there is any damage. If you detect non-functioning units, replace them with new cartridges as soon as possible.
  3. Ensure that every cartridge is installed correctly.  Take out the ink tanks and reinstall them correctly, one at a time. Ensure that each unit is locked tightly in position.

Fix 3 – Unclog the Print head (Automatic Cleaning)

Concerning inkjet printers, you may unclog the print head with the printer’s automatic cleaning cycle. You may activate this cycle from your printer’s control panel or the Printer Properties in your computer’s Control Panel.

The process causes your printer to leak excess ink, softening or removing clogs up the print head. Pick the deep cleaning function option supposing the basic cleaning does not work in unclogging the print head.

Fix 4 – Unclog the Print Head (Manual Cleaning)

You may choose a manual cleaning method if the automatic cleaning method fails. Bear in mind that there are two types of print heads. A print head has been integrated with the cartridge, and there is a detachable version.

Avoid exposing or wiping the sponge section of the ink tank when wiping removable print heads. To stop any direct spilling of ink on the skin, wear protective gloves during the process.

Printer Driver Issues

If your printer prints out blank pages suddenly, it could be because of driver or software problems. If these are the cause, you may have to uninstall your printer driver and reinstall it on your computer. Performing a software update can occasionally rectify the issue too.

Fixing Blank Pages

One of the most disruptive things you might experience with your printer is when it suddenly prints blank pages. And if you are working on an important document or file, the sudden printing of blank pages may be rather frustrating. Luckily, there are ways to fix this problem so that you can immediately return to where you had stopped. These are easy to attempt independently, even with minimal or zero technical training.
